If your not 21 yet they most likely wont actually di an exam theyll just ask you questions then give you a script for the birth control... If you have to get the exam its over in about 2 seconds lol they put a little tool in the to open you up a little (not a lot at all) then they use like a long cotton swab thing and swab inside and then they take the tool out and its over!
Scared for Birth Control
My boyfriend really wants to get birth control but because of some stuff that's happened to me in the past I'm scared to make the appointment and go through the whole exam procedure. I just don't know how to make the exam more comfortable so I don't get overwhelmed. Sorry if this seems like an irrational fear.

I guess maybe it depends where you are..? In the states i know the doctors prefer to wait until 21 unless they think something is wrong or if your getting tested for gonorrhea or chlamydia

Well I'm 18 and have had a few friends get the exam who are also around 18, but this made me feel a little better. Hopefully I don't have to go through the whole exam part, at least not anytime soon.
