when and how to stop feeding on demand?

And starting a schedule!
My LO is 4 weeks old today! She eats and sleeps completely when she wants to. I have no specific time I put her down for the night, it could be anywhere between 8,9,10,11 or even 12pm depending on when she ate. She goes 2-2.5 hours And is pretty good at going back to sleep in the night ever as day time she stays awake! This is normal? I see so many posts of women putting there babies down at a certain time ect

She's still a baby. Let her decide when she's sleepy or hungry

I found that my daughter is doing pretty well at scheduling herself as she gets older. She is 2 months now (10 weeks) and from the beginning we turned the lights in the house off and turned the tv volume low at the same time each night, around 9pm. It took a while but I think it helped her get her nights and days correct because she was mixed up for quite a while. At 8 weeks we started crib training and she did much better than expected and I think it's because we waited till then, had we tried at 4 weeks we would have failed miserably. But each baby is ready at a different time! So we kept turning lights off at 9, feeding, putting her in PJs and reading a story and rocking her to sleep. Then we put her in the crib and she usually sleeps 3-6 hours (still a work in progress so it depends). If she seems tired earlier than 9 we don't force her to stay up and we do her routine when we notice sleepy cues. Same if it's later, if she is wide awake we will let her stay up a little (within reason, 30 mins to an hour max) because it will only be a frustrating fight otherwise. So yes, we loosely schedule but ultimately it works MUCH better in our favor to follow her cues. She is now down to 1 night feeding and often sleeps 5-6 hour stretches! Hope this helps!

All normal. Feeding on demand is hard especially if you are schedule oriented. But I say if you are happy and your baby is happy why change? Plus feeding on demand will keep your supply up. Your baby knows what they need, just follow their cues.

There's no need to be on a set schedule for a while. Just follow your baby's lead. If it's working, then keep doing what you're doing!
