How do I count?

How do I know when to test or how to count how many days I am after ovulation? Do I start counting the first day I ovulate or the last day? Please help!?!?!?!

So I am on cd 16 I am counting from the first ovulation day. I tested Saturday and got a bfn and my af is supposed to start May 1st. Does that mean I am most likely not going to get a bfp this time around?

There isn't a "first" or "last" ovulation day. You ovulate once during your cycle and the egg is ony viable for 24 hours or so (it maybe 24-48 hours but I'm not 100% sure about that). If you temp you count 1 DPO as the first day of temp rise after a temp dip (you can confirm ovulation with 3 days of temps above cover line). If you don't temp or do OPK to pinpoint ovulation, you count 1 DPO as the first day after your fertile window ends (so the day after the last green circle on your calendar).

Jessica, start counting the day of ovulation. If you are temping it's the day before your temperature elevates. The day of your elevated temp is DPO1.
