Has anyone ever had negative effects from the Depo shot?

I'm starting birth control soon and want to do the Depo shot. Has anyone had any problems with it?

I loved the depo shot!! Only reason I stopped was to get pregnant! After the birth of my second daughter, I'll get it again!!

I has really painful periods while on it and would bleed after sex ( when on the pill or on nothing, I did not bleed after sex). It got to the point where I was bleeding evey two weeks and after sex.

Oh my goodness I HATED IT. I gained weight, was a total hormonal brat and was constantly yelling/crying. Acne was bad, and also for half the time it was effective I had terrible spotting and bleeding. I did not get a new dose.

The depo shot turns me into the biggest b**ch to walk the face of the earth. (Just ask my man!) I also gained 40 lbs in 2 months. I will NEVER get on it again.

It was when I got off the shot that I had a problem. I would bleed and spot for almost 6 months straight.

I was on it for 2 years and liked it. No abnormal weight gain, and no period. The con with that is, I didn't know I was pregnant because I didn't have a period and now my baby girl is due in December 😂

I was on it for 6 months before switching to the pill. I was very irritable and had no sex drive at all. I also gained about 20 lbs. Never again lol

I was on it for 3 years and loved it. I didn't gain weight or anything else. I only got off it because I wanted a break from hormonal birth control in general. I had no problem getting pregnant after getting off it even though we weren't actively trying.

I was going to get it but my sister got it done a couple weeks before I did and she's been bleeding for over 4 months now. But everyone is different
