Do you get in bad fights with your SO?

Me and my boyfriend fight a lot. Sometimes it's over dumb things. But sometimes name calling takes place. And he will point out stupid things. Like how apparently I'm stubborn and don't appreciate him. Is it normal to be like this? When we fight though we don't kiss and make up. It takes days. Because we are both stubborn. And he has anger issues and he just went off on me and it really hurts....we've been on and off on the past but we always end up back together. He was trying to help me know what to do when i move out....and he got pissed because i said i didn't want him to worry about me. He took that as in i don't want his help. And now because of him thinking i don't want his help he thought that was somehow me not caring. And now he's acting like he doesn't care...once again. He also just found out his mom is dying from a tumor. And him and my mom have a lot of drama, they don't like each other....and she gets in my relationship. Everything is just a mess
