too much blood

My period was over a day and a half ago. And me and my boyfriend had sex. And when we were done there was ALOT of blood. Usually after my period there is some blood not a big deal. But this was almost scary my period had also came a week late. I was supposed to get it end of august and I got it beginning of sept. Which is also weird. We have been ttc for a year and a half now... I just want to know if I should be worried.
