I met my dad for the first time 2 years ago, we talked for two weeks and I haven't heard from him until last week or so. I reached out to him when I needed to get my car fixed, and he was like my last resort. I am unsure if I want to try to build a relationship with him. My mom is no longer in the picture, she left me in 2009 when she became very addicted to drugs. My grandparents want me to try to build a relationship with my father, but they don't want me to get hurt if things go the same path as two years ago.

Has anyone else on here been/are in the same boat? I really need advice. 😔
