When pregnant with my daughter now 1 1/2 my cervix started to open at 23 weeks so I had emergency surgery to get a rescue cerclage placed into my cervix to prevent me from going into preterm labor. Prior to this happening to me, I had never heard of a "cerclage". After surgery, my doctor put me on bed rest and I was not allowed to return to work until after I gave birth. Luckily for me I made it to 36 weeks and my water broke. I gave birth to a very healthy 5 lbs. 14 oz. baby. When my baby turned about 14 months, I found out that I was pregnant again. Because of what happened during my first pregnancy my doctor instructed me that once I was 13-14 weeks pregnant, I would need a preventive cerclage because he didn't want to wait to see if my cervix would start to open, he just wanted to prevent it. With the first cerclage I was told NO SEX!! With this one I was also told NO SEX!! Some of the women on the "Baby Bump" app who have had cerclages in the past said that they still have sex but with a condom so that they don't get an infection. What do you all think? I think it's risky but I'm also super horney, LOL! Cold showers down below have been helpful but the real thing would be better. I'm just scared and would do anything to save my pregnancy. Any thoughts?
