Anyone in Hawaii ?

Anyone stationed in Hawaii ? If so how have you enjoyed being on island . I am a spouse and so far not my favorite place

SB spouse here! We moved here Halloween 2015. It was a hard adjustment and could be a little lonely at first - I miss my friends (but they've all moved too) and the time difference makes it difficult connecting with family on the east coast BUT I dread the day we have to leave. This place is gorgeous! I haven't made a lot of friends - we live off post but I started putting myself out there more and have already connected with 2 other spouses. Hiking is breathtaking, snorkeling on the west side is amazing, beaches for all different water sports, variety of eateries and new foods are endless (esp compared to Fort Drum, NY). AND my neighbors (locals) are so friendly and helpful and they keep bringing us local dishes. You get what you put in.

Also, Tripler has been a blessing to my fertility.

I'm always looking for friends if you get lonely! 🤘🏼

I'm in Hawaii and I basically hate it here. My husband has a countdown on his phone of when he gets out so we can leave

We husband is AF and we live on Hickam...been here for 6 years now and we LOVE it! Yes it's more exspensive, traffic sucks and you're super far away from family but
There's always something to do and I've made some of the most amazing friends. This island really is our happy place. 😊

My hubs and i have been stationed on kbay for a year and a half and i love it, i hate that hes attatched to a grunt unit so he deploys a bit but i honestly dont know why people hate it here. Yea the drivers suck and unless youre used to it being away from family can be hard but honestly we live where people pay tons to just vacation so i love it.

My husband is Navy and I live in Kunia (Waipahu!) we moved here in June and we love it, despite leaving our family back in South Carolina! We've been trying to find other married couple here as well, and so far we've been pretty lucky! Everyone here seems to be wonderful!
