When will my husband want to have a baby?

I have been with him for 7 years married for going in 2. We have a house good jobs and a dog. I keep having baby phases that seem to be a lot more frequent lately. I asked my husband if he ever had a phase like me and he said no. 
He said he is going to keep adding projects to the house and want to put kids off till xyz is done. Then he will add something new to the list. After telling him how I feel about a baby he said it would probably be up to me to decide when because he knows he is going to keep putting it off. But I need him to be ready too. 
Anyone else go through something similar?

You can do house stuff while having kids. We are currently remodeling our half bath and we have a 1 year old and one on the way. Sit him down and ask him for a straight answer on why he isn't ready. House projects are not a good reason

He could just be nervous. My husband was like that when I first started bringing it up.. Now after 2 years of trying we are expecting in February and he's over the moon

You might have to try to get more serious about talking about it. He can put it off and put it off, but the house/situation will never be "perfect" for having a child. Having a baby doesn't mean you can't ever work on improving anything. If you're financially stable, good jobs, stable household and you're ready for a baby, it's perfectly reason am to sit him down and make sure he knows where you're at.

How old are you guys?

My husband & I have been married for 7 years, together for 11, & are now both 32. We both did a lot of putting off kids until starting TTC this year (I'm now pregnant). My husband ultimately did leave it up to me to "pull the trigger"-- since it's my body-- but we were both on board.

My husband did this too. He kept wanting things for himself and wanted to be selfish. We both have good jobs, have been married for 5 years and together for 8, we don't own a house yet because we haven't found one that we can agree on, we rent a 3 bedroom house, have 4 dogs. I basically sat him down and told him that we had to start trying soon, we are over 30 so it is harder to conceive and who knows if we will have trouble getting pregnant and will need treatment. So I went off birth control in June 2015, and I actively began trying. Nothing happened for 11 months. Then I got pregnant in May and had a miscarriage in June. When I had the miscarriage it was like a light switch with him and he suddenly was all about having a baby. I got pregnant again in July. He doesn't talk about the baby much yet, and he's only told a couple of people.
