Is my lo behind?

I'm seeing posts about our 4 and a half and almost 5 month olds setting up unassisted, rolling already, crawling even! Should I be worried that mine isn't doing any of these things yet?? She has learned how to blow raspberries (fart noises for lack of better explanation) and has said "momma" quite a few times but nothing like the other posts. Just getting quite nervous. Anyone else the same level here???

I honestly try to avoid reading all of the developmental milestone posts on here because I don't want to freak myself out. What we see on here is biased, it's going to be the babies who are on the early end of the skills. I mean no one is going to post a picture that says "look at my baby, s/he isnt rolling over yet."

Our LOs will do everything when they are ready. There is a huge range of normal for all the developmental milestones. For each milestone some kiddos are going to be on the early end and some on the late end, and some may skip a particular milestone all together and still be developing normally! As long as my doctor is happy with how my LO is progressing so am I!

Crawling is more of a 6 month milestone. Sometimes one baby will do one thing faster, and another baby will do another, and when you see them gathered in one place it looks like "wow all the babies are ahead but mine!" Yours may be ahead linguistically but not with spatial skills, or some other milestone area. I was so worried when my son didn't smile as soon as other babies did, but now it's ALL he does! Babies just do what they do, on their own schedule.

Don't look at the milestones!!!!! Every baby is different!! And developes at their own pace.

Every time I bring my baby girl, who is 4.5 months now) to the pediatrician, I would always say the same thing...she isn't doing this or that and the books say, or people who have a baby the same age, their baby can do this blah blah blah. And my pediatrician told me to stop looking at what other babies do and ect.

My baby girl hated tummy time. HATED it! She wouldn't cry, but she refused to lift her head, she would just lay there on her tummy with her head turned to the side just starring and babbling at me.

Then one day all of a sudden she rolled over and lifted her head and kept it up for about 20 min!

She sits up right (with support, can't sit up by herself yet) but holds her head up and has amazing control.

Now she's is rolling around and is becoming a mover and Grover!

Don't worry too much about what everyone else's baby can do. If your doctor says your baby is healthy and happy then who cares!!!!

My lo is rolling but hasn't said her first word yet and we're still waiting for a giggle. Every baby develops at their own pace, try not to worry about it, your lo will do it all eventually, they're probably just really laid back.

Every baby progresses at their own pace. I wouldn't only get worried if your doctor is concerned. However, it's also important to remember this group is for all babies born in April so some babies might be nearly a month older than those born at the end of the month.

My daughter could hold her head almost from birth. She rolled at 2 months, and is a pro at it. You know what though, she's not sitting, she wants to crawl but can't, and babbles but can't repeat sounds. She tries really hard to blow raspberries,and ends up just spitting, it's so cute. She's already got stranger awareness, and flips out to anyone she don't know. Just wait for that! Lol. Babies do what they wanna do.

Mine is at the same level as yours. He can pull himself halfway up to a sitting position but not all the way. He rolls to his side but won't roll over completely. He's scooting on his belly button no where near crawling yet. He is also saying mama and is very chatty and social. I'm not worried about it. He's trying and he'll get it eventually. Most of those milestones don't happen until about 6 months or later so don't worry about it mama.

Mine is the same!

His communication is great but he isn't a big mover yet. He does a roll now and again but he's not a pro by any means.

I'm not worried and don't you be either.

These things often don't actually start until closer to 6 months.

Mine isn't doing any of that stuff either, I was a little worried myself! But I think each baby has their own pace and they'll get there soon!
