People need to work things through and it is hard when on a break because you are no longer working towards the same thing.       
I think its a way for people to do what they really want to do while stringing you along.

No. If you care about each other enough, you work through the issues. A break is just an excuse to see other people and not consider it cheating. No go.

Yes- me and my So have been together for 3 years, we live together and are around each other a lot of the time. I don't call what we have a 'break'. We call it a 'breather'. It's hard adjusting to living with each other as we both love our personal space. I love my SO more than anything but sometimes we need a few days to ourselves. He stays at home and I go to my mums. It doesn't mean that I don't love him any less and we speak the whole time I'm away it's just nice. All relationships work differently. I would never ever judge anyone for how they're trying to make their relationship work. X

A good healthy, strong relationship you work through tough times. Taking a break means you're giving up to think. That's like a practice run. In the real thing you don't a time out.
