when people come in late

Does it make you really mad when people come in late?? I did a party between lunch and supper and the time was between 1:30-6pm and no one showed up until 3pm. Is it rude??? I'm seriously thinking of never inviting people who actually accepted the invitation but do not show up.

I think if you provide a long time window like that, people assume they can come for any portion of it. If you really want people showing up right at the beginning, I wouldn't give an end time.

I try to make it clear what my expectations are when inviting. If I say dinner is to be served at x time, yeah, don't come late.  If it's for a football game or something I expect people in and out.  
My good friends also know I'm anal about being places on time, so they'll at least text or something and say they're running late or tell me they have work but will be there after, or whatever the situation is.

I think that timeframe is too long. Personally, I don't want to stay at anybody's house for 4 1/2 hours. So, I would show up at least an hour late for that. I would possibly make the timeframe shorter, or just say the start time of the party, or you can specify on the invitation what time the meal will be served, so that you don't have food sitting around waiting for people to get there. I always expect people to be at least half hour to one hour late.
