He said he's playing it by ear?

So I've been dating this guy for two weeks he calls me everyday texts me every morning and night we are in contact pretty much all day and he always tries to see me when we're both off work . But has never like mentioned that he likes me or his intentions or anything so I asked him what he was looking to get out of this and he said I will always be honest with you because you are one of the most genuine people I have ever met and you deserve it I am honestly just playing it by ear like I am with everything in my life . How should I take that lol ?
