How do you tell if your cervix is open or closed? Idk if I'm feeling for the right thing

When I check my cervix I stick my finger in and your cervix is on the side of your vaginal wall and not just  straight up right?? I feel everywhere in there with my finger and cannot figure out where the opening of my cervix is. So frustrated! /:

Answer

It's not on the side. Sometimes you need to use more than one finger to really get in there. Haha. When you insert your finger(s), curve it as if you trying to touch your belly button. Straight up the the back.
