How to introduce finger foods?

My daughter is 9 1/2 months old and is still eating her baby food and formula. I'm trying to introduce finger food to her and a sippy cup but she doesn't seem interested. She also doesn't seem to understand to put it in her mouth. Any tips? How did you get your little ones to eat finger food and drink out of a sippy cup?

We started all of this at 6 months and now at 9 months she's getting the hang of a sippy cup. She has always just been 'ready' for the finger foods.

My son loves toaster waffles. I just cut them into pieces he can hold and he eats them by himself. He only just started feeding himself last month, I started with gerber puffs and pieces of banana. I sill feed him baby food too and formula but he likes regular food more.

Every baby is different. We tried introducing all that stuff at 5/6 months too, but some just don't want to do it. We are at 9 1/2 months too, and still struggling with finger foods/silly cups. Baby food and formula only here too! If you find a way to get the little one interested, I'm eager to know!

We started food and finger foods early so by 6 months she was eating finger foods by herself without help and can use a spoon now at 8 months... we just put it on her tray and let her do what she would with it... and she eventually got the hang of it... the sippy cup we started at 5 months old and so now she it just used to it and will now drink from a straw... for the cup just show her what she is supposed to do and say yum that's what we did
