c section under general?

I'm due November 13th, my dr just called and my c section is scheduled for November 9th! I'm so excited but I can't help but be a upset too my Drs wouldn't approve a vaginal or a spinal/epidural so I will be having my c section with general anesthesia. 🙁 (due to it not being safe with my health conditions) my husband doesn't understand why I'm upset but I'm devastated I won't get that experience, I didn't have it with my first child either because he was born with cardiac complications.  Anyone have any experience with c section under general?

I do. That's how I had my daughter who is now 6. I tried to labor but I didn't dialate past 4 cm so they took me in for a c section. They couldn't get the spinal in right so they decided to put me under. Boy was I terrified. I didn't want to be put to sleep and miss out on my baby being born. Believe me I was so sad. But her father was there and took good care of her until I woke up. As soon as I did and I was ok enough, they put her on my chest and trust me, at that moment nothing else mattered. It didn't matter anymore that she didn't get to be with her momma right away. She had her loving daddy and now, I got to hold her and everything was perfect. It'll be ok :)

I had my first like that. Took me a while to wake up. I didnt like that everyone got to hold her before I did. My second I got to be awake during the csection, much better.
