How long can I expect to be irritated?

Hey girls. I'm pretty irritated/raw down there right now from having sex when I wasn't wet enough, not using lube, and neither of us shaved so YEA- IT WAS REAL FRICTIONY😭

How long can I expect this to last before I need to be concerned and start considering it could be an infection or something?

I've been inspecting that whole area for days and don't see bumps or cuts anything, just redness and it really hurts as my hair is growing back and rubbing against it 😓 been using coconut oil for two days now and it has helped but one area is still very irritated.

I would say after three or four days you should start to feel better. Keep the area clean and dry, you want to use a barrier cream if it's just irritated or an antibiotic ointment if you broke the skin. The best thing to do is the minimize contact and friction to the area, so wear looser underwear or none, if it's that's too painful. And definitely make sure it's either cotton ( and not scratchy lace!) or something breathable to keep yourself dry. Sweat or discharge may irritate the area further. I would suggest not shaving until it's fully healed because that can put bacteria into the skin, especially if it's raw and open, not to mention you don't want to cause more irritation. I would say you might have wait close to a week or more until it's healed, but you shouldn't be having an increase In pain or swelling.
