Infertile :(

I just went to the gyno yesterday, and since my husband and I have been TTC for over a year, he officially classified us as infertile. I am slightly overweight, just by a point or two on the BMI scale. He wants me to try to loose 20 lbs and try clomid. Has anyone else tried this drug? Is it successful in your opinion? I'm so confused and hurt! The one thing that a woman is suppose to do I can't on my own :(
