Immunization question!

Nikkita
So I just had a check up yesterday at 36 weeks 5 days and my doctor  tells me that I have to have a flu shot and tdap (tetanus vaccine)😒 now I've been a nurse for 5 years for a primary care physician and we use to have meetings about vaccines and talk about how harmful they could be to the average young man and woman. So I obviously denied to vaccines knowing that the flu vaccine every year is different and live. And the tetanus vaccine sterilized (made them unable to have babies) thousand of women in Africa just a few years ago. So the question is not am I wrong for denying the vaccines but the question is how do you all feel about the vaccines crossing your placenta if they can be harmful to the adult woman who isn't pregnant. And yes I'm sure your doctor told you that it's your babies first immunization before there 2month check up and it can protect them more then your breast milk can from bacteria.
But let's not forget that this stuff is new. Our parents and grandparents didn't have to do this so why is it so vital for us to have it now?
