Trying with PCOS

I recently found out I have PCOS. I really want a kid, it's been well over a year since we started trying and I've seen a Dr. They want me to cough out thousands of dollars for tests instead of actually helping me, and I'm miserable. My periods are painful and becoming longer, and happen every two weeks or so. Do any of you have anything or any ideas that could possible help us conceive? We are both so ready for a child and so sad it's not happening.
