When to Give in to Exhaustion

How much should I push myself when tired? I work a full time job (at a desk) and my husband works a full time manual labor job with lots of overtime. In the evening I feel I have just enough time to eat dinner, rest, and help my son with his homework before I'm too tired to do anything else, but I feel in the process of getting enough rest my house isn't getting the attention it needs as far as me cooking and cleaning. Should I push myself harder? I don't want to be a complete slob by the time the baby arrives

My Dr. said always listen to your body so if you're feeling exhausted you shouldn't push yourself too hard

Wow! That's a lot, given that you're also making another human 😊 Reach out to family, friends  & neighbours for help with your son's homework, making dinner, grocery runs, heck, why not some housework! If that option is not available, take a look at a biweekly cleaning service to do the more heavy cleaning = you can tidy up every day but why not farm out scrubbing the bathroom/deep vacuuming? It may not be as pricey as you think?

I think thats a very personal question that in the end only you can answer because only you know how you are really feeling. What i can say is that you dont have to look at it as all or nothing. You dont have to sacrifice sleep every single day. Perhaps do as many small things as possible before bed daily and then do the bigger things that might keep you up every other day or every two days. I just recently (im 18w) started getting over the pregnancy exhaustion so i know how hard it can be. My SO and i share household duties so we take turns washing dishes, cooking, laundry and bathing our 6 month daughter. We stayed so busy but we tried to pick up as we go as much as possible so during the week we took turns and then during the weekend, we tackled the house and did a full cleanup so we can get anything we might have missed. Its a balancing act.
