Braxton Hicks or actual contractions?

I can't tell. I'm only 33 weeks. But, it started high then when lower. Tightness in my back too that wasn't there before. Maybe I'm over thinking because I'm getting anxious.

Not true! I actually spent the entire morning/day at the hospital today. For the past few days I was having what I thought was BH and it turned out they were real contractions just mild. They also discovered that my cervix has thinned out a lot. If you even have to question which one it is your best bet is to go to the hospital and get checked. Better safe then sorry. It's their job to do this and you won't be the only one who comes in for the same concerns. I'm so glad I had my normal appointment today because if I hadn't I wouldn't of went in and I wouldn't have had the help I needed. Take care of yours and your baby

I agree with the above, 'real contractions' Aren't always extremely painful. Early labor is NOT that painful at all, I was able to drive myself to the hospital when I was in labor with my daughter and my water broke outside of the hospital. If they are timable and you are unsure, I would go in and be checked.

Drink lots of water. BH are mostly from dehydration.  As long as they aren't getting more painful you're probably fine.

If it was legit it'd hurt like hell. My real contractions hurt and make me feel clammy and nauseous. BH don't hurt- you can feel them but they're not painful, unless accompanied by round ligament pain, which you can have without the BH as well.

I've been getting some BH, but I drink plenty of water so I just try to stretch out while standing and relieve the pressure; mine never hurt, but suddenly happen and take me by surprise sometimes. I'm 32weeks & 3days along.
