Who faces the most discrimination?

So the other day, my Econ professor asked the class this question. "Who has faced discrimination the longest in our country (the United States)?" 
     
I immediately said "African Americans" because it's what I believe even if it wasn't the correct answer according to him. He quickly said no and someone next to me said "Native Americans" he said no. Then a small voice in the class said "women" and he said yes. 
  
So here is the question, who do you think faces the most descrimination?

Personally, I think it belittles the discrimination of various groups by asking "who's got it worse."

If you're talking simple numbers of people, then yes, women would be the largest group. But it's not like every woman faces discrimination, or to the same degree.

I think it certainly shouldn't be something that your professor considers a fact that he's teaching.

I don't believe there's a single answer for this. You have to take time and place into account. It's like asking what's worse slavery or genocide?

My general opinion is that it shouldn't matter...the fact that any discrimination exists at all is ridiculous. But I probably would've been the person who said native Americans. As a woman I can agree that women are definitely discriminated against, and history and current news is more then enough proof that poc are treated absolutely terribly. And it's mind blowing that it hasn't stopped. But North America was pillaged and raped and stolen from the people who originally lived, loved and respected the land..

Where I live I would say maybe Aboriginal  people. Or maybe trans people because there is a lot of ignorance there.  But really it depends where you live. Any minority has it hard.
