Do I have a right to be upset?
Story: So my bf hasn't worked in a year and I'm between jobs at the moment, just getting by with babysitting money. I pay for everything, he hasn't paid for anything for more than a year.
I made like 80 bucks the other night and I was saving it to get a haircut or wax or something, but I decided to treat my bf and buy him a hard drive.
He got a labouring job for the next few weeks, and I asked him what he plans to spend his first pay check on, and he said, "well I get paid the same week as this new game comes out".
I was pretty hurt. So I coyly asked him, "oh I would have thought after spending my pay on something for you, you would return the favour". He didnt seem amused. And answered, "we'll see".
Do I have a right to feel a little betrayed? Or am I just being selfish?
Edit: I don't ever expect things things in return, I didn't even expect he'd get a job when I bought him a present. I just want to be treated and taken care of for the first time in a long time. Considering I haven't gotten any anniversary or birthday presents in the 3 years we've been dating, I think it's about time I expect something to happen.
