When to register/buy things for baby?

Hello! When do you all start a registry and buy big baby items? People keep saying the months will fly by, but I don't want to start too soon.

I'm planning on starting mine next week, want to have everything there so people have time to look/hopefully order before I start having baby showers.

I started working on my registry...it helped me plan out what we need...as we get things I'll take them off the registry...we will probably kick off the baby shopping around black Friday 😉😉😉

I havent started buying anything yet but if I do it will be simple things like plain onesies & socks simply because at baby showers you get so much stuff that you wont have to buy certain things for a while. As for registry I don't think its too early I'm going with my next month. My baby shower is in early january.

We started buying at least one item a week  once we found out I was pregnant. However we have a lot of big expenses coming up this year and we don't plan on having a baby shower or registering. So for us, buying a little bit at a time has been a lot easier and less stressful on us.

I went ahead and registered early. I'm due March 21. But my birthday is October  and Christmas is coming so I figured my family could use it for those and for the baby shower.

I bought the crib, bassinet, high chair, baby swing and car seat all at 8 weeks just because I was so excited! I also registered as much as I could at that time too.
