What are the chances?
I caught a cold of sorts from my mom - bad sore throat, sinus pain, etc - and I'm concerned about giving it to my 4.5 month old. My mom's version of this had extreme nasal congestion but I haven't reached that point yet. My son is exclusively breastfed so I'm trying very hard not to breathe on him too much! I know that breast-feeding can help prevent him from actually getting sick – I guess I'm just looking for encouragement from other mommies that he will be OK! He was hospitalized for five days when he was only seven weeks old because he somehow contracted viral meningitis and I've been terrified of him getting sick ever since! Are his chances of staying healthy better since he is hopefully getting, through breastmilk, some of the defenses that my body is building to fight this thing?
