Zofran?

Question

My friend is on Zofran and says it takes her nausea away completely... But my sister in law says it's risky and messes you up neurologically and doesn't really help. Have any of you used it and did it help? I've only vomited once this pregnancy so I'm really just curious about the nausea

Do a little research on the subject and I'm sure you'll find (like I did) that the suits claiming it caused birth defects are completely invalid. There's always a chance for birth defects.
I took Zofran for a few weeks and my doctor says everything looks exactly as it should be. It didn't take away my nausea (I only had it for that, I wasn't throwing up) but it did help a lot.
Just like any medication it will work for some and not for others or somewhere in between. Also like all medications it has risk factors. Even Tylenol has risk factors. 😎

I took zofran my ENTIRE first pregnancy. And my daughter is 100% healthy. While I'm on something different this time, my midwife told me zofran isn't linked to birth defects. A study just showed that some women who had babies with birth defects also took Zofran. Which does not mean Zofran had anything to do with it. I didn't get it prescribed this time cause my doctor said it's an "unknown drug" and they still have too many questions with it, but she said it's not dangerous, just not recommended unless absolutely necessary.

I used it up until I was about 15-16weeks and my son is almost a year and healthy. Honestly (With me), It didn't take nausea away. It just subsided it to where I could "deal with it". Whereas my friend, It took the nausea completely away.

I refused to take ANY medication but my prenatal at the beginning. I threw up only twice and the rest was nausea that was so bad I would cry because I'd be so sick so my stomach. Because I refused to take medication, I just drank lots of ice cold water and SLEPT! Sleep was my nausea medicine lol!! And BOY did those naps help, every single time. Made me seem lazy but, it was way better then taking a bunch meds or possibly putting my baby at risk!
