Yes. It's all based on if you hyper-ovulate and release two eggs that both get fertilized. (Fraternal) or one egg just splits. (Identical, not as common as fraternal though). I have 12-year old fraternal twin boys.

My grandma had 2 sets of twins. (One of those twins being my dad.) My cousin has twins. My husband is a twin and he also has a set of twin cousins. Twins are heavy on both sides of our families, so we were mentally prepared for twins! I think we were more surprised to find we're only having one!! 😂

I've always heard it's the females side that helps determine that so if you have a maternal line of twins I'd definitely say it's very possibly.
