Lo Loestrin Fe...Period?

I'm starting my, now second, pack of lo loestrin but I'm very confused at what is happening with my body.. On my first pack, after maybe about 3 weeks in, I switched my time in taking it by 2 hours. (I was still on the blue pills) I started having lots of white cm which normally happens a few days before I get my period..on my first white pill I started spotting and assumed that it was my period (it was around the time my period was supposed to come anyway) I've now spotted for 4 days and have not taken a "reminder" pill..I just went ahead and started a new pack after the last white pill.. Is that what I was supposed to do, or was I supposed to finish out the pack? And is your period only spotting while on the pill or should I be expecting a regular period? I'm worried and not sure what to do u.u I also had sex without a condom a week after starting my first pack, if that helps any in concluding this madness..
