VERY Irregular Periods

Alright so ever since I got my first period my cycles have been extremely irregular, I have never gotten my periods within even close to a month of each other, and when I do get them, they are EXTREMELY heavy. Right now I'm on cycle day 132 and my period is extremely late. I haven't reached the point yet where I can get blood work done to check my hormones, but at this rate I probably will. So many girls are like "you're so lucky you don't have your period right now!" They have no idea that I would rather have my period regularly and be able to expect it rather than having it be a guessing game. I'm not overweight and I work out a fair amount and have a healthy diet. I just don't understand what could be happening.
