why can't you drive for a few weeks after a c section?

Is it because of the medicine? I never really understood why. Good thing my SO is taking off or else id have no way to get to the doctors appointments

Because they are cuttin through your stomach muscles and that effects the way you push the gas:breaks

As long as I wasn't on my narcotic pain meds my doctors cleared me to drive when I was released.

I was only told not to drive while on narcotics. Otherwise it's ok if you're comfortable with it.

You may be less able to react quickly and make an emergency stop when driving after a c-section,  mostly because slamming on the breaks will hurt like heck so your body won't want to do it. Also, you could set back your recovery.

It is incase you have to brake suddenly or something happens when you were driving! If you were to brake harshly the seatbeat could cut into your wound!

It's just the pain meds I think. I had a c section and was told I could drive as I felt comfortable doing so as long as I didn't take any pain meds. I still needed my husband to go anywhere because you can't lift anything heavier than the baby, so I couldn't lift his carrier.
