pumping to induce labor.

I'm a week late so my midwife/Doctor both cleared me to try pumping to induce labor. I'm a FTM so I've never pumped before. I did 15 minutes on each breast with a break in between and it started mild contractions that ended up stopping after 30 minutes. Am I supposed to continue alternating breasts multiple times?
