What does talking mean to you?

To me talking means just that. We are talking and getting to know each other. If I want to talk to more than 1 guy I will. I'm not sleeping with anyone I'm talking to but we can go on dates and see how things go. What about you all? What does it mean to you?

Personally I think "talking" is sort of dumb. If you're going on dates then you're dating. Dating doesn't mean you're exclusive. Being a couple means you're exclusive. But I also get it. Because once you're exclusive with someone, you're still dating them but only them and how do you differentiate that in conversation without explaining it? It's like we need another word or something I don't know.
