Breastfeeding help?

I had my baby 3 days ago and I wanted to breastfeed as soon as she was born, I tried and she latched on good for maybe less than a minute and then acted uninterested & kept rejecting my nipple. Since I knew she was hungry I didn't want to make her wait so I said let's just bottle feed her.
I just came home today and I've tried twice to breastfeed since I felt like my breasts were heavy and hurting, she seems like she had a good latch but I have no idea if anything is even coming out or if I can still try if she's 3 days old. I would LOVE to have this bond with my baby. Help?

Another way to know if you're making anything is to learn manual expression and squeeze out a couple drops of milk for baby to lap up. If you google Stanford manual expression you will find a good video to explain how to do it.

Of course you can still try. And she's got a TINY tummy at this point so even the little bit that's coming out is fine. Don't give her formula until after she nurses, and only give a little at a time. And just let her nurse whenever she's interested. When you're awake go ahead and nurse her every 30 minutes. If she takes longer swallows she's getting milk. Don't worry about it too much your body knows what to do. Actually the easier way to switch from formula to nursing is to get an SNS which is basically a tube so baby sucks on your nipple to get her formula
