To all the teens on this app ...

1) Focus on school. A majority of the posts that are created by these teens are awful. Many of them can't spell, or are not even trying. No, I am not a Grammar Nazi, but it is not that difficult to spell correctly. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem if you young ladies paid more attention in school than to the "fuckboy" who's causing you so much heartache. Also, many of you are very young. While companionship is important, focusing on your priorities matters more.
2) Educate yourselves on sex, please! Before you even begin to THINK about having sex, do your research, ask your parents, look online, or go see an OB/GYN! There are at LEAST 10 posts a day by 15-17 year olds asking, "Omg, am I pregnant?" Rule # 1: If you DON'T want to or are scared to get pregnant, do NOT have unprotected sex! If you decide to have unprotected sex, make sure you and your partner are clean and that you are on some form of birth control! *If you are not on BC, the morning after pill exists. You have 72 hours, and the sooner you take it, the more effective it is.
3) You can not detect pregnancy within a day or two. It takes around two weeks for your HCG levels to be high enough, if you are pregnant, to be detected on an HPT. However, you may know earlier via blood test. So, if you and your partner JUST had unprotected sex the night before, you're not going to know the next day whether or not you're pregnant.
Other helpful notes:
• Oral sex can not get you pregnant. Same applies to your partner fingering you - (unless somehow sperm has travelled into your vagina; even so, the chances are unlikely)
• Douching is not good for the pH of your vagina. The risks definitely outweigh the advantages - you are more likely to get an infection, and it is correlated to cervical cancer.
• Your period can be late for various reasons, so just because AF hasn't visited yet, it does not immediately mean that you are pregnant. Some causes include stress, change in diet, change in exercise routine, weight fluctuation, etc.
• Not everyone on this app is a doctor! Therefore, if there is an emergency or something urgent pertaining to your health, please go seek medical assistance. Posting on here will not give you the attention/advice you may need.
I hope this helped some of you ladies. This isn't everything, but I tried to cover as much as I could. This post was inspired by many of the younger ladies who constantly ask for advice on the topics above.
