So I have this guy friend that I have known forever. I have never hinted at anything with him because I am in a relationship and he has never hit on me but lately he has been saying I love you to me? Is it normal for a guy to say that in a friend type of context or should I be concerned and tell my SO about it?

Maybe he's being joking or sassy. The way he said it sounds like when girl friends talk to each other. If he doesn't say it repeatedly after this then I think it was just a joke. If he does..gurl

It seems like it's just in a friend way like you would say to your bestie. He said love ya instead of I love you which implies it's in a friendship way plus he wouldn't be suggesting that you go out with your boyfriend if he was trying to confess his feelings.
