breastfeeding?!

I'm breastfeeding my 3 day old baby and my nipples are beyond on fire...

How do you cope? Any tips?
I don't want to give up breastfeeding but the soreness is starting to get unreal. :(

I found coconut oil to work the best! It gets better!

Gel pads. Keep them in the fridge when you are not wearing them and put them on after feeding. Nipple butters are great cause they are light and easy to put on. Lanolin is a bit heavier and thicker when you feel like you need more protection. Tylenol is also very helpful for the really bad days.

Are you sure baby doesn't have any ties such as a lip or tongue tie?

It gets better, promise!! I was super sore too and engorged for the first week or so. Warm wet washcloths before nursing and lanolin cream were my best friend during that time.

The first couple sucks are intense, but it really shouldn't be painful after that. I would seek some precessional help with a lactation specialist bc it sounds like your LO isn't latching properly.  I initially tried to go it in my own and my LO wasn't latching correctly - lots of pain for me and she wasn't getting adequate nutrition.  Seeing the lactation consultant was the Best decision I've ever made!  They also have the tools/supplies to help!  Lanolin is absolutely essential! ☺️

My pain tolerance is pretty low.. I almost gave up breastfeeding.. it does get better... 6 months and still feeding..hang on there momma! You will be feeling better soon.. 💕💕

Creams and letting yourself air dry after feedings. Rub some breast milk on your nipples and the area around and then let it air dry. It helps me a lot

Agreed.  Try lanolin or coconut oil.  It does get better.
