Is my OBGYN going to check for effacement?

I have weekly appointments now since I'm 38 weeks but I was wondering if she's going to check me every time or at least every other time? If not, would it be absurd to ask her to? 😅 I'm just so curious and impatient

I'm going to my 3rd weekly appointment tomorrow and shes going to check me for the first time and I'm 38 weeks

I get checked every week after 36 weeks as well. But you can always ask if. I asked at 35 weeks to get checked with my first because I knew my cervix was changing. And she checked :)

I get checked every week starting at 36 weeks for positioning, effacement and dilation.

It varies by doctor. Some don't check at all until you're in labor. You can always ask though!
