pain killer while breast feeding?

Ladies - 20 days pp and I suffer sever back pain towards the end of the day. The only way I can sleep at night is with pain killers.. is it safe to take 600mg Motrin while breast feeding? Thanks

I was taking two oxycoden and Tylenol while at hospital and was breastfeeding.  Talk to your doctor.  You don't want to harm baby.

At the hospital the nurses said that Motrin is fine for breastfeeding and gave me 200 mg Motrin for my headaches. On our first visit to the pediatrician, I asked her about Motrin and she told me Tylenol is actually safer then Motrin for breastfeeding babies based on research. I'd advise that you talk to your baby's pediatrician as they're usually more informed than the hospital nurses.

I was on Vicodin and rx ibuprofen after my c-section for a handful of weeks for pain management. Just call your doc and ask. I'm sure it's fine.
