Job interview at 32 weeks???

Question

Okay so me and my husband have decided I need to take on a job to help with finances considering this year was a slow year for him for work ( he's a subcontractor). I got a call back for a management position at Bob Evans and they seem really interested. I didn't say anything about me being pregnant  (31 weeks almost 32) can anyone give me any insight about interviewing this late in pregnancy. We need this second income and I'm okay with cutting my maternity leave down to nothing if it means our house is stable. The training is 11 weeks and it's a salary job so it's paying pretty good.
Anyone want to give me any tips ? Stories to share?

I interviewed at about 28 weeks pregnant. I didn't mention it until there was an appropriate time in the interview... it was a real estate job and he asked what would motivate me since it's commission based. That felt like a good time to talk about it - and while I was nervous, he ended up saying not to worry about it. A lot of people truly want a good worker and are understanding of family things. Don't worry about the effects of pregnancy on your interview until later. Just go in and ace it!

I'm trying to start interviewing as well, but I'm nervous. I don't want them to look at me weird when I go in. I just want to have a new job lined up for after baby. I am not happy at my current job and I'm trying not to return. I'm really close to delivering and I could let them know I plan on starting mid December or after the new year.

Be open and honest with them.  You're too far along to hide it.  Please consider the toll it will have on your pregnant body if you have to stand for long periods of time, your body might not be used to it and it could literally exhaust you.  They won't appreciate hiring you,  and then finding out you have to take time to give birth in 8 weeks,  especially if training is 11 weeks. Just a word of caution. Best of luck!

Legally you're not obligated to tell them and it's illegal to discriminate based on that. Go to the interview do an awesome job then discuss leave and long term plans. Don't mention it before they c u.

Good luck ladies! I have applied and was interviewed for a supervisor position at the clinical lab I work at. I have nearly 4 years lab experience with the company, a degree in health sciences, and supervising experience. I didn't get a second interview but a 21 year old who just started working for the company last year got a second interview! I know they can't judge me because I'm pregnant but it sure feels like that just happened 😢

If it were me, I would bring it up on the phone/email when setting up the interview. I think it would be harder for me once in the physical meeting, because it's weird to mention it first, but then if you don't, you risk them bringing it up first. I would say something like "I am so glad you called, because I truly believe I am the best fit for this position. I want to let you know that I am pregnant, and I would like to discuss with you what that could look like if selected for this position."

I'm a manager and interview people about once every 2 months for different positions. First of all it depends if you're clearly showing or not. If yes, no point in hiding it and I would mention it upfront along with how long of a maternity leave you'd like to take. It's very important to convey at the same time you're very interested and feel inspired by the job and what skills you bring up the table which will make it easy for you to get on boarded and start contributing quickly. I'm a true believer of "Hire for attitude, train for skills" so if somebody has the right attitude, they'll get the job even if they're expecting pentuplets 😉 (just a joke, obviously number of babies doesn't matter).

I just started a job last week when i was 31 weeks pregnant. I didn't tell them i am pregnant and still haven't. I know they wouldn't have hired me if they knew and i intend to tell them next month. I did ask them about leave which they said they don't offer until you've been there 12 months which i figured but they did say if something happens i may be able to be put on an on call position and once i get released to work again I could get my position back if its available. Im hoping the later of the two happens

I posted something similar to this and got very beastly comments. I never said anything about being pregnant and got the job. I didn't tell them until after I started orientation. Legally they can't not give you a job because you're pregnant. 
I've had a friend win a lawsuit over it. I would assume most places don't want to give you time off when you're new but it's part of life. You'll do your training until you're due and they can probably keep the manager positioned covered a month or so if you need recovery time.
