I've had a headache for 3 days now.. nothing terrible considering I suffer from chronic migraines, so a minor headache is not something I worry about. but when it lasts 3 days I start to get a little concerned that and I've had some swelling on and off since my headache came on. Well I called my local labor and delivery and they said it would be better if I just came in to be monitored to make sure it's not preeclampsia or anything serious. Well my doctor wasn't the one on call but I went anyway. While I was there I started having contractions nothing serious nothing consistent so they dismissed them. I also have a urine sample and also blood so they could run all of their silly test. Well after I had the test done the nurse gave me a baby aspirin. I didn't think anything of it. About 30 minutes after taking it my headache started to go away a little so I decided to try and take a nap. well every time I started to drift off and actually fall asleep I woke up suddenly and it was supper hard to breath. And my monitors started beeping and they only do that when your pulse plummets (my resting pulse is 54 on a normal day and it wasn't beeping while I was awake and my pulse read 57 almost the whole time I was there) or your blood pressure is too low or high well this happened 4 different times I would finally fall asleep just to wake up not being able to breath. My mil showed up because I was there alone and we sat there for about another 45 minutes. I was having contractions again nothing consistent so they didn't think anything of them well finally my lab work came back and everything was normal no sign of anything so I just brushed it off. I was discharged and went to the store with my mil. While I was there my contractions started getting stronger and my head started throbbing. As I was getting ready to leave I looked at my mil and told her I had to sit down because I was about to pass out. I kept feeling light headed and nauseous so I ate something. I felt good enough to get in my car and drive the 20 minutes home but now that I'm home my headache has gotten worse and my contractions are still pretty strong. Since I just left labor and delivery I don't really want to go back but my thing is, my doctor does not allow anything besides the lowest dose Tylenol be taken during pregnancy with her patients it even said it in my chart but the doctor on call was determined to give me a baby aspirin so I consented. Has anybody else taken aspirin and felt like this after taking it? I don't want to be paranoid and call and then say I'm just imagining it.
