pregnancy announcements

So I am currently 5 weeks 4 days and am living in a completely new state with my husband. The only people I have here to talk about my pregnancy is my inlaws and then I get to talk via text to a couple friends from out of state.

I am eagerly awaiting the "right time" to announce it. But my husband and inlaws insist on waiting to announce it until I'm past the "crucial time" of 12 weeks. I need advice or opinions from those who have announced it "early". Thanks ladies!
