If Anything Were to Happen
This may not necessarily be considered controversial, but it can be a good topic.
Hypothetically speaking, whether you have kids or not, if you and the baby's father were to split, would you want to go for child support if you have sole custody of the child?
Ok, now then, where I live, if the father is not living in the household, the state will pursue child support, even if you and the father are dating. You can't do anything to stop them. Which I think is messed up just because they don't consider what you want. What do you think about that?
I personally wouldn't want to force my son's father to pay it because he should want to help take care of his son. Which isn't the popular opinion, but it's just how I think I would feel.
