Someone i knew from high school is being flirty and calling me cute and stuff. But i just got out of a relationship and I'm not ready to go on dates or anything yet. 
He's awfully sweet and hasn't said anything about dating but i want to put a hold on his flirting without sounding like a bitch and i don't know how!

You can just talk to him straight up. Say that you're not comfortable being flirty with anyone yet and that you appreciate the gesture but that you really don't want to get involved with anything right now

I'm kind of bitchy and blunt in general, but when I've had hat happen I always try to be super sweet. I tell the guy that I'm flattered and I appreciate his attention but I'm just not ready to look for a relationship or anything that leads to a relationship at this point.

Just tell him that you're not ready. If he understands, that's good. If he doesn't, then you know he would not be a good choice for a relationship later down the road
