Will you buy your little one a winter coat?

Question

The reason I ask is because infants are not supposed to wear winter jackets in their car seat. I can't think of when he will be outside in the freezing cold and NOT in his carrier.  This makes me think we don't need one. Am I crazy?? Any insights are appreciated.

I live in a very cold climate. All my boys will have winter coats. I also don't use an infant car seat, just a 0-100lb convertible seat. So he def needs something to get around while outside

We got a fuzzy 'snow suit' ... It's not really a winter jacket but for warmth it will do fine. I babywear anyway and a winter jacket would be too warm. I think if you plan on walking a lot with baby is stroller maybe a winter jacket would be a good idea.

My son will only be between 3-6 months during our cold season so I bought a few fleece sweatshirts rather than a coat. He won't be running around outside by himself ao I figure a fleece top and a thick blanket is sufficient enough to keep him warm.

Nope, we live in Texas number one reason why not but the hassle of taking them off and on to go into the car seems like a lot of work when blankets and a warm sleep suit would work.

I don't understand. So you're suppose to take your baby's jacket off possibly in blizzard type weather and replace it with just a blanket? Am I the only one who gets freaked out about possibly getting LO sick? I know car safety is important but it seems cruel to freeze them.

Even if he is in his carrier he will still get cold. Just take it off when you get in the car.

You can have them wear a coat when they're not in the car seat but when they are, just take it off and put a blanket over them.
