how many outfits?

How many 0-3 outfits should one have? What about 3-6?

Yes I also have quite a bit of onesies, over 12 I know.. I just got him some pants b/c he stays colder than me due to the medication I take makes me stay way hotter so it's hard to tell when he's hot or cold. Have to pay careful attention to him to be able to tell... it's not that hard really tho. But I'm always sweating bullets when the air is on 68..!!! I put it on 70 at night tho. I'm trying to get him ready for winter & got him a North Face jacket!!! Will post pics. I honestly don't know b/c the rest of his clothes that are over 3 months are still in the back room in the baby shower bags. His armoire has to be put together then we can really get stuff hung up & all together but it's all brand new & he's growing like a weed so someone is gonna get really good hand me downs!! Lol.. he has a good bit tho. He needs more clothes & sleepers for winter, not many, maybe about 3 of each & little hats that actually stay on b/c the ones that come with outfits don't stay on my son & he literally has the most perfect shaped head so it's a gimmick, those damn hats! I need the ones like at the hospital, those suckers stay on & are like real toboggins.. 
Look at that little head! Gah I just love him! And that jacket!!!!! It was $40 but I don't care, it's adorable!

I wouldn't recommend buying newborn size if your baby is born at 7-8 lbs they will already either not fit or be snug.

Buy onesies long sleeve and short sleeve
0-3&3-6. Carters tend to be more true to size

I try and stay away from gerber and kola clothes bc they tend to run small.

I bought lounge pants but i bought bigger ones to get more use out of them 3-6 and no 0-3 for around the house

Pjs are also great I preferred snaps in the beginning when they are small. Much easier to get on and off and diaper changes

Lots of bibs with good Velcro or snaps. If you keep one on baby in the beginning instead of changing a onesie 5 times u just change a bib 5 times.

Don't buy too many outfits. If you are having a shower wait and see what you get.

It's better to not buy too much and buy if you feel you need more later on bc lots of times you have things that the baby never wore.

My baby was born 6 lbs 9 ounces and I had a bunch of things for her given to me and that I bought myself but I can honestly say that now at 7 weeks I use sleepers the most! Onesies with feet attached and the Tshirt onesies.. Pants are cute and so are the little outfits but honestly the most practical are the onesies at this age. She's currently 10 pounds and we are approaching the end of the 3 month size.

FTM and for size 0-3m, I'm aiming for 6-9 short onesies (so I don't have to worry if baby is long), a light sweater and I'm sewing 3 buntings. I'm due in Feb so I really can't see us taking the baby out very often. This kid is going to live in diapers, onesies and blankets. Plus my entire family were born porkers (no one has ever been under 9lbs in last 2 generations) so we plan to purchase as needed and as we go along. I would be shocked if my child stayed in the same size for more than 2 months.

I just waited and got them at the shower. My son only stayed in nb size for a few weeks and is wearing 3-6 m size at 2 months. I wouldn't buy to many yet.

Every size he has had 15-20 onsies. Maybe 5-7 pants or shorts. 6-8 pairs of socks except for summer didn't need any. Really they don't need tons and tons of clothes. I see woman on here with closets full of newborn to 3 months and it's such a waste of money. Unless you don't put a diaper on them they will never go through that many outfits. Some sizes my son was in for only a month.

We ended up getting a lot of 0-3 months from our shower.. so I waited to see how much I really needed. We had about 20 onesies, 7 sleepers, 6 pants and 12 pairs of socks and a few outfits... I hardly used the pants since my baby was born late April and it started warming up. Same for the socks, he wore them a handful of times. So all in all we figured that was enough clothes for each size. But there were some outfits he didn't even wear, like overalls and jeans and things like that. We just didn't have a use for them, hanging out in a onesie was a lot easier for us.

Woah. These numbers are blowing me away! I have like 8 onesies for my son, 4 sleepers and 3 pairs of pants and I'm feeling guilty that we have too much and he's not wearing them all.

3 months is a long time. I would say 7 sleepers, 20+ onesies, plus some outfits/pants.
