What is the next step?

As I read through the posts on this page I can see that women on here are at several different stages of testing and fertility treatments. I have been undergoing what I call an "elimination process" for the last 6 months. I had my blood levels tested to see if I was ovulating, and my numbers came back boarderline so my doc put me on 50mg of clomid. I have successfully ovulated on clomid for 5 months and still no success. In the last two weeks my husband had a Sperm Analysis done twice and came back normal both times. On Friday I had an HSG done, and everything was clear and my doctor would call me Monday. Has anyone had a similar situation? What was the next step in the process of TTC? More testing? Just not sure what my doctor will suggest we do next.

We did trying alone for 6 months. After I had a 64 day cycle, we did started Clomid 50mg x 4 months. I ovulated each time but no bfp. I did the hsg (normal) and tried again without Clomid this month due to traveling. We will likely not be able to try next month but we are hoping to do iui with Clomid for up to 6 cycles before we try anything else. Good luck! :)

Your situation sounds VERY similar to yours. We did mine and my husbands lab work (including his Analysis), 6 months of clomid (monitored with labs, Sonos, plus the trigger shot) and 2 iuis. After all of that- I was ovulating every time so they did an HSG which came back normal. My doc recommends that fertility specialists don't want to see patients on clomid for longer than 6 months to just jump right into their clinic to do IUIS or ivf. that is why we decided to only do the 6 months of clomid before we loved onto IVF instead of maxing out our chances using clomid.

Probably move to IUI with oral meds or injectables. Your time on clomid is up and they will put you on femara unless you want to do injectables.  The stats of conceiving are still the same as timed intercourse. If they think sperm is the issue then iui will bypass the cervix. Most Dr give you 3-6 tries of IUIs before saying it's the to move on again. Gl

The next steps would be possibly upping ur dose of clomid, maybe in combination with an IUI. They will prob add a trigger shot with the IUI to help with the timing. After that there could be a clomid/injectable cycle or a straight injectable cycle

It sounds like you've done all of the normal testing. When on clomid did they monitor your cycles? If not that could be a place to start. Or depending on how old you are and how much longer you are willing to continue doing medicated cycles the doc might suggest IUI to help your chances.  I don't know your full situation, but I'm guessing those are some of the options.
