What to expect at 8 week appointment? 🤔

I have my first appointment on Friday and I will be 8 weeks. I was told by the lady on the phone that I wouldn't be seeing the actual Doctor that day. Does that mean I won't get an ultrasound? Will they listen for a heartbeat? I'm assuming they will do a urine test to confirm pregnancy but what else can I expect? When is it typical to go back for a second appointment? I know I should have asked her all this on the phone but honestly I didn't think about it at the time.

Anyway, I know every doctor is different but I am just curious what is typical. When was your first appointment and what was your experience?

8 weeks for me was an "interview and medical history review" no heartbeat was looked for and no ultrasound. 
Went over mine and my husband (and our families) medical history. What to expect at apts. paperwork. Meds I can and cannot take. Ect

I saw my doctor at 8weeks and 3 days. She talked to my husband and I about pregnancy stuff & went over my medical history, I had a vaginal exam, 8 valves of blood taken and an ultrasound and a follow-up appointment

At my 8 week appointment I got an ultrasound + listened to heartbeat, did a urinalysis, and got blood drawn.

I'm in the uk so might be different from you. I'm 30 weeks in my second pregnancy and haven't seen a doctor I attend a midwife based clinic. At the first appointment you won't get a scan or hear the baby's heartbeat it's too early for that. You will probably give a urine sample, Maybe a blood sample too. And go through lots of questions about your health, family medical history. Questions about how you feel and what symptoms you're having. Is there anything you're worried about? You'll have an apt every month but not an ultrasound every time. I had my first at 7w5d with my usual OBGYN . Saw and heard baby, took blood .  Next apt was at 12 weeks (had a scan, blood), 16w (blood, heartbeat, no scan), next scan is at 20w then apts every month till 8 (next and last scan at 32). Then every 2weeks

If it's the first appointment and youre not seeing a Dr you'll probably just do a review of medical history maybe pee in a cup and have some blood drawn. Then when you go back for a second appointment you'll have your first ultrasound. My office does appointments every 3 weeks. But like you said every Dr is different!
