Bringing 3weeks old newborn to Thanksgiving dinner ??

My baby is due on Nov. 4th. And he will be almost 3weeks old on thanksgiving day. My husband and I usually go to my MIL's house for thanksgiving dinner and she has two dogs and her mom will bring her dog too. So there will be 3 dogs but not other kids. I am FTM so I am kinda worried if I should take my newborn to the thanksgiving dinner or not. What do you mamas think ?

You can take your baby anywhere when they're small. Just no kisses or touching. Family should understand the most. #lookbutdonttouch

Mine will be less than 2 weeks old, and I'm taking her to my parents' house. They have four dogs and we have over 15 family members who come eat with us. A lot of kids in my family have been born a few weeks before thanksgiving and never missed it :)

Personally this year im not going to my usual family get together for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It may be over the top but my baby will be tiny and new and some of these germs can be deadly. Just not worth the risk.

We will have about a 3 week old as well. We go to both our family's houses for thanksgiving. Usually quite a bit of people. We are going provided I feel well enough after my csection but I am planning to baby wear both places and absolutely no touching or kissing. I do not plan to take her out of the wrap except to change her diaper. I don't really care who I make mad family should understand how fragile they still are. And personally I can't wait to eat some real food!!

I will be bringing mine to thanksgiving and he is due around the same time. This is my 3rd though (I have 4 year old twins). If your baby was a preemie I would be a little bit more concerned but since there won't be any kids around I think you are fine. Dogs aren't a big deal... it's what you are comfortable with. If you feel like everyone will want to touch him/her too much then just buy a wrap and carry him with you.

I'm contemplating the same thing but for xmas.  Baby is due end of nov.  I think I may just have family come to us.  though I have hosted parties before but never xmas - the big one!! *gulp*

My baby will be about 2-3 weeks old. We will not be attending family thanksgiving with my mil. She is trying to make us drive 4 hours to the family get together......not happening!! I wouldn't mind having her and other family come to us but we will not be taking the baby away from her environment. We want her to begin a routine and avoid other small children at such a young age. If you don't have far to go and their won't be other small children it might be nice for you to see family. The dogs can always be put in another room away from baby.
